Splitting a PDF is necessary whenever you want to isolate pages from a larger document: extracting a chapter's pages, separating invoices from a bank statement, or creating reduced versions of a manual. OnlinePdfEditor lets you do this in seconds, directly in the browser.
You can select pages individually or define ranges (e.g. 1-3, 5, 8-10). The result is downloaded as a ZIP file containing a separate PDF for each defined range. This is the key difference from 'Extract Pages': splitting produces multiple output files (one per section), extracting produces a single file with the chosen pages.
A concrete use case: a 12-month bank statement with each month spanning 2-3 pages. With 'Split PDF' you define 12 ranges (1-3, 4-6, 7-9...) and download a ZIP with 12 separate PDFs — one per month — in a single operation. Without this tool you would need to use 'Extract Pages' 12 times. If you only want some pages in a single PDF without separating the rest, use 'Extract Pages'.
